Deer Creek Trail

Deer Creek Trail is a nice little walk through the trees.
Well, it used to be before the fires last year.
No longer is it the cool stroll under leafy boughs, but a lesson in nature's resilience after devastation.

There were quite a few flowers around, and wild wheat seems to be everywhere.
No matter, we enjoyed ourselves and look forward to next year to see how it has changed.

I don't know what kind of flowers these were but they were abundant and smelled lovely

George likes me in flower patches, especially when my shirt blends so well

You could take an ecology class out here to see second successional growth after fire

There were little bright wildflowers mixed in with the wheat.

This windmill is still pumping water out. Not sure what it's for, but it's still working
